Lake Shore Family Law has been practicing law for over a decade collectively and was founded in 2023. They have two attorneys on staff who are passionate about family law and helping their clients navigate difficult legal situations. Ann Leone is a Chicago native who specializes in representing business owners, professionals, and their spouses in complex, divorce and family law related matters. Ann’s diverse background and membership with the American Academy for Certified Financial Litigators has allowed her practice in family law to specialize in high-stakes litigation involving closely held business interests, highly-disputed parenting issues, involving serious mental health concerns, and complex support disputes, requiring analysis and understanding various compensation packages.
Ann is widely recognized by Judges and the legal community for her creative problem solving and zealous advocacy which enable her to advance her clients’ interests, even in the most challenging cases. She has extensive experience both in the courtroom and as a skilled negotiator in alternative dispute settings, as a certified mediator, which affords her the unique ability to tailor her approach to meet her client’s individual priorities and specific circumstances.
Ann is a Chicago native who comes from a Hispanic family and is fluent in French, Spanish, and English. In addition to her multicultural background, she has worked in various government agencies, including the Department of Children and Family Services and The Cook County Office of the Public Guardian. With her background in Psychology and keen understanding governmental interventions in the context of families in crisis, Ann is uniquely able to provide her clients with a long-term perspective regarding the impact of their present decisions on the future of their family. Her direct and transparent communication style enables her clients to feel supported, heard, and empowered to make decisions regarding the future of their familial relations and financial well-being.
Ann graduated from Loyola University Chicago with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and Psychology. She received her Juris Doctorate from University of Illinois – Chicago, formerly known as The John Marshall Law School. Ann has been recognized as an Emerging Lawyer by Leading Lawyers and has lectured before the Lake County Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar Association on divorce issues. Ann’s passion for community outreach and serving families in crisis is furthered by her volunteer legal services for the Department of Children and Family Services, SGA, and Greenlight Family Services.
Megan Falsafi focuses her practice in all areas of family law, including divorce, maintenance (formerly known as alimony), child support and child related expenses, allocation of parental responsibilities, including decision-making and parenting time, division of assets and debts, post divorce disputes including enforcement of Judgments, domestic violence issues, and prenuptial and postnuptial agreements.
Megan began her legal career in 2014 while working for the longest standing States Attorney in Illinois. Megan helped the former States Attorney open his own private practice, where they practiced family law. Several years later, Megan has now opened her own law practice with a partner, Anne Leone, where she helps implement the multiple techniques and strategies that she has developed over the years in order to help achieve the best outcomes for her clients during the hardest times of their lives.
Megan has worked at the United States Attorney’s Office and as a Victim Advocate. Upon earning her Juris Doctorate Degree from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, and starting her family in the Northwestern suburbs, Megan knew that practicing family law would quickly become her passion and career.
Megan has extensive experience working at several prestigious family law firms in Lake County, Illinois. Most recently, Megan was named a partner as a result of her dedication and strong commitment to her clients. Not only does Megan play an integral role in her clients’ lives, but Megan is also very involved in the legal community. Megan serves on the board of the Association of Woman Attorneys of Lake County. Megan is also a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and Lake County Bar Association. Megan is always participating in continuing legal education opportunities to ensure that she is up to date and knowledgeable of all developments in the law in order to zealously advocate for her clients. Megan’s completion of the Guardian Ad Litem training and background advocating for victims gives Megan a specialized understanding and devotion to help clients dealing with complicated custody disputes achieve an outcome that is in the best interest of the children. Megan is well-versed in complex financial issues and has experience dealing with the division of businesses acquired during the marriage. Megan’s goal is to carry the weight of a stressful process for her clients while keeping her clients informed and negotiating outcomes tailored to her client’s goals and arguing factual but persuasive arguments to the Court.
